Auburn University has a long history of completing insightful research projects related to white-tailed deer that have improved our understanding of these fascinating animals and their habitats.  Auburn University’s current deer research program, known as Deer Lab, is continuing this legacy through the many research projects conducted at the recently constructed Captive Research Facility located near Camp Hill, AL as well as on public and privately owned land throughout the southeastern U.S.  The goals of Deer Lab are: 1) conduct relevant research that improves current knowledge of the biology, ecology, and management of white-tailed deer and their habitats and 2) disseminate results and knowledge gained from this research to both the scientific community and general public.
